THE INS & OUTS
OF SELLING

 

RECEIVING DAYS

Goods received between Monday and Thursday will be displayed in that weekend’s Sale.

Goods received on Friday or a Saturday morning will go into the following weekend’s Sale. Goods brought in on Saturday must arrive by 12 noon at the rear door on Victoria Street.


COMMISSION RATES

Commission will be deducted from what the item sells for, so take this into account when setting your reserves. There is no charge if the item does not sell. 

Bearing in mind our minimum commission of $2.20, bric-a-brac and small value items should be grouped together to avoid paying the minimum on each item. 

All rates (per item) include GST, advertising and handling costs. 

0 - $10 Minimum of $2.50 
$11 - $200 25% 
$201 - $1,000 20% 
$1,001 - $2,000 17.5% 
$2,001 - $3,000 15% 
$3,001 - $5,000 12.5% 
$5,001 - $10,000 10%

RESERVES

We suggest you set reserve prices based on what you are prepared to accept, rather than what you are hoping to get. Consider what you would be prepared to pay for that item. 

Tip: You can build the commission rate into your reserve.


REDUCING
RESERVES

If your item hasn’t sold by its second sale, you may consider reducing the reserve to increase the chance of selling on your third (final) sale.

Please advise our staff if you wish to amend the reserve on weekdays only, as reserves cannot be amended during a sale.


RESULTS

Please check after each sale. 

EMAIL: An email with your results will be sent to you if you enter your email address on your Goods Received form.

ACCEPTING
UNDERBIDS

If an item of yours has been underbid, and you would like to accept the highest bid, please notify the Tender Centre as soon as possible or click the ‘Accept Bid’ link on your results email.


COLLECTING MONEY

Proceeds from the sale of your goods are available 24 hours after payment has been received from the buyer. 

Payment can be collected from the Tender Centre or, if you prefer, you can arrange for a bank transfer.

We recommend the following delivery services for bringing in and collecting goods.

  • Little Green Truck


BULK LOTS

If you have too many items that you need to sell quickly or can’t bring in yourself, consider the Cash Truck. Specialising in bulk lots, we will quote you for the goods and buy them directly.

 
 
 

SELLING GUIDELINES

 
 

Please read the following conditions and tips to sell your goods for the best price.

  • Goods may be left for 3 sales, after which if no bids have been accepted, the goods must be collected by the Wednesday following the third sale. 

  • Reserve changes may be made prior to any Sale. 

  • Goods must be in good working condition. Otherwise they must be clearly identified as “not working - for spares only” etc. Misrepresenting the condition of an item may result in a cancelled sale. 

  • Clean, well presented goods will increase your chances of getting higher bids. 

  • Groups or boxes of small items should be securely covered in strong, clear plastic to avoid items being lost/mixed/stolen during sales. While the Tender Centre takes every precaution to ensure the safety of your goods, it cannot be held liable for such losses. 

  • Bundaberg Tender Centre reserves the right not to accept certain goods for sale e.g. unsaleable goods, used mattresses, car parts & clothing. 

  • Goods are stored at your own risk. Insurance is the responsibility of the vendor. Please notify your insurers before booking in high value items.

ALL ABOUT BIDDING

 

HOW TO BID

The Tender Centre offers a unique and exciting buying experience. Sales are held every Saturday (9am-5pm) and Sunday (9am-3pm). 

Simply fill in a Bid Form with an item’s lot number, a basic description and your best offer… then hold thumbs until you receive your results after the Sale.


BIDDING FEES

Premium 13% (per item) 
Processing fee $2 (per bid form) 
NO SALE, NO CHARGE


RESERVES

Reserves are listed on each item. Items will be sold to the highest bidder at or over the reserve, or passed in to the next weekend’s sale if unsold. 

Items with no reserve are written as ‘ - ’. The minimum bid is $2.00 and all bids must be in whole dollars only i.e. no cents.


UNDERBIDS

You can still bid under the reserve! If there are no bids at or above the reserve, the item will be passed in. However, the seller may accept an underbid during the week, in which case we will let you know.


RESULTS

Please check after each sale.

COLLECTING
YOUR ITEMS

Won items must be collected between Monday and Thursday following each sale.

All bids are legally binding as per the conditions on your copy of your bid form, so please only bid on items that you are prepared to buy. Customers that renege on their bids may be barred from placing future bids.


REFUNDS

All goods are sold ‘as is’, so please inspect the items thoroughly when placing bids. Faulty electrical items must be returned within 24 hours to receive a refund.
